Good Chicken Award Update
In 2016, Jumbo made a commitment to the Good Chicken Award for their fresh chicken. In 2017 the Good Chicken Award criteria was updated in line with the Better Chicken Commitment with additional asks including use of a slower growing breed and controlled atmosphere stunning which are key to improved welfare. Jumbo have continued to improve the welfare standards of broilers in their supply chain. As yet, Jumbo have not yet signed up to the Better Chicken Commitment.
