Dr Daniel Sanchez, Fish Welfare Research Manager
Daniel completed his BSc in Biology in 2010 at the University of Valencia and a Masters in Science in Sustainable Aquaculture in 2011 at the University of Stirling, focusing on modelling the flood cycle using satellite images to identify aquaculture sites.
Daniel did his PhD at the University of the West of Scotland focusing on the influence of dietary carotenoid on ornamental fish welfare, behaviour and colouration, in collaboration with an industrial partner.
He has gained broad experience in aquaculture, firstly in research aquaculture and later in production planning at one of the biggest Mediterranean aquaculture companies.
Daniel joined Compassion in February 2021 to use his extensive knowledge and experience to help improve the welfare of fish in food business.
